What personal data we collect and why

Contact forms and newsletter

When you contact us through the website or sign up to our newsletter, we collect the details you provide (such as your name and email address) so that we can respond to your enquiry or send you the updates you have asked for. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.

Bookings and payments

Class, course and event bookings, and the payments for them, are handled by our booking provider, bsport. Donations are handled by Donorbox. The details you enter when booking or donating are processed by those services under their own privacy policies.

Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content (for example videos and maps). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you had visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Cookies and advertising measurement

We sometimes run adverts, for example on Facebook and Instagram, to let people know about our courses and events. To see whether those adverts are working, we use measurement tools from Meta on this site. These are optional and stay switched off until you accept them.

Your choice

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept our measurement cookies. If you decline, nothing is tracked and the site works exactly the same. Your answer is remembered in a small cookie of its own for 180 days, after which we ask again.

What we measure if you accept

If you accept, the Meta Pixel records the pages you visit and any clicks on booking buttons that take you to our booking providers (bsport and Eventbrite). We also send the same information to Meta from our server, together with your IP address and browser type, so that the measurements stay accurate. If you type your email address or name into one of our forms, the Pixel may also send it to Meta in a scrambled (hashed) form that Meta can only use to match you to an existing Facebook or Instagram account, never to read your details. Meta may connect this activity to your Facebook or Instagram account; how they handle it is described in the Meta Privacy Policy.

When an advert brings you to the site, the link carries tags saying which advert it was. We keep those tags and pass them along when you go through to book, so the booking can be counted against the right advert. We never see your payment details; payments are handled entirely by bsport, Eventbrite or Donorbox, as described above.

You can withdraw your consent at any time using the button below, which deletes our measurement cookies and brings the banner back.

How long we retain your data

We keep enquiries and newsletter subscriptions for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry or until you unsubscribe.

What rights you have over your data

You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
