What is the Polarity Retreat, and why join?
The annual Polarity Retreat is a week-long immersive experience of discovering the enigmatic dance between the masculine and the feminine. This dance plays out in the retreat as a specific programme designed for men and a specific programme designed for women, both including yoga, meditation, workshops and talks.
Throughout the week there are meaningful interactions between the men and the women, which give us the direct experience of the masculine and feminine uniting. These interactions can be spontaneous, but they are always held in a space of love, understanding and attention.
The men’s programme
Awakening Shiva
The men go on a journey exploring how they relate to masculinity (in the Tantric tradition, the conscious principle known as Shiva) and how they can develop their masculine qualities. This is explored through tantric practices including self-enquiry, archetypal models and self-transfiguration.
Just as essential is how the men relate to the feminine, which the Tantric tradition calls Shakti: the energy and life force of creation. Adoration of the women as Shakti transforms simple, fleeting interactions into an inner attitude that becomes the cornerstone of the man.
The women’s programme
Unveiling Shakti
The women enjoy a programme where they can unveil, layer by layer, the vastness of their femininity. They come to understand their relationship to Shakti and all the ways they can invite Her into their life, allowing for a greater feeling of nourishment, contentment and elation.
Deepening their connection to their feminine heart, the women discover a deeper admiration and appreciation for the masculine, Shiva, realising there is nothing without Him and He is within everything.

A week in the Devon countryside
The 2027 retreat takes place at a residential venue near Tiverton in Devon, with gardens and open fields, a yurt, an indoor pool and a sauna. The rooms are very beautiful and comfortable, with no more than two people per room.
The nearest train station is Tiverton Parkway. The exact address is given upon booking.

From past Polarity Retreats
The Polarity Retreat is one of our fundamental events and has been held every year since 2011. Here is a taste of a previous retreat, and what participants say.
I attended Polarity retreat so far five times, and they have been watershed moments for me. In that retreat I became aware for the first time of the game between the masculine and the feminine. And this has impacted all areas of my life, from relationships to eroticism, to work and spiritual practice.
This retreat was a very special experience for me as I felt I could truly be who I was, who I truly am. After integrating the notions taught in the Polarity retreat into my life, I discovered a deeper happiness and freedom.
Tara’s Polarity Retreat is one of a kind. This is not your normal yoga retreat. You enter a kind of fascinating tantra bubble that is both mysterious and enlightening. And one that is hard to leave come the end.
What a great playground to experience the contrast of feminine and masculine energy exchange! It was one of the few events that I think transformed me deeply and I was never the same after it!
Being under the same roof with other women, learning and being inspired together, listening and watching them being moved and crying was beautiful and deeply nourishing. Then the time where we consciously (and with lots of curiosity) interacted with men at the retreat became the cherry on top.

The Polarity Retreat is a beautiful adventure that is also transforming. Participants may reach certain limits, and we wish to create a safe and loving space where everyone can courageously face them and open to transformation and a genuine leap of consciousness.
