Eros is not only about lovemaking – it infuses every aspect of our existence, including our transformation.

Human beings have always intuited that the entire creation, that nature itself, constantly springs forth from the divine Eros, the holy union between the masculine and the feminine, between Shiva and Shakti. United in erotic rapture, Shiva and Shakti, consciousness and energy, give birth to all that exists in a continuous process of creation and transformation. When we awaken to Eros we can join the game of creation and transformation fully, in all our manifestations.

Erotic fulfilment plays an important – even a catalysing – role in our lives, especially in our success and fulfilment. The importance of the state of effervescence without inhibitions and blockages in our spiritual life often escapes the aspirant on the Tantric path. It is not enough to engage only in great effort or endless sacrifices in order to attain superior states of consciousness. If we cannot also enjoy life and be happy with no inhibitions or limitations, we will not be able to concentrate on the sublime aspects of the manifestation, because these sublime aspects all spring from the plenary ecstasy of the endless union between Shiva and his beloved Shakti.

The creative energy empowers every aspect of our lives, and bringing the creative energy to its maximum state of effervescence in any project or action will empower and enrich not only the action but also ourselves, and will awaken within us latent potentials and qualities that can be freely expressed through our being.
