Join us on this adventure, and discover how the awakened luminosity of consciousness is your guide to happiness!

The Truth About Happiness

Waiting to be happy will be a process of endless waiting, however, the choice to be happy now, gives an endless happiness. This is the secret of being present with life.

Everybody wants happiness and no one wants a life of suffering. Yet the choice of living in a paradise or in hell does not belong to external factors. It is through our own choices that we make, that even in difficult external circumstances we can find happiness inside.

We often look on the outside to find sources of pleasure and joy and then we start to rely on them and even become dependent. This ultimately leads to a lot of unhealthy attachments and relationships. However, it is not possible for someone or something to truly make us long lastingly happy unless we make the choice to take The Path of Happiness itself.

We can try to rely on superficial fixes which may give us highs but also lows when the external source withdraws. Or we can go inside and seek the roots of happiness itself. If we decide to be happy beings, no matter what, that choice will take us to the source of happiness itself.

The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance, the wise man grows it under his feet.

Happiness is a state of mind characterised by feeling content, satisfied and fulfilled. The Greek word for happiness is ‘Eudaimonia’ which means spiritual good and wellbeing. Philosophers believe that Eudaimonia is the highest human good and is not synonymous with happiness in the same way most people consider happiness to be, but governed by elements in our attitude and by the resonances that predominate in our being.

If we are constantly looking on the outside for sources of our happiness, we will ultimately be disappointed in finding the long-term happiness we all seek. But is the answer then, only to look inside. And the answer to this is also ‘no’ as we cannot look on the inside with the same attitude we have on the outside. The key is to look inside but also integrate the external elements.

A wise man once said, ‘Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you are, are in harmony.’ This implies that true happiness requires a more holistic viewpoint, integrating all the elements to find the completeness within.

What you can expect

In this retreat we will look at five fundamental areas of our life that contribute to our overall state of happiness and fulfilment which is integral for the awakening of our soul:

1
Harmony and superior balance

2
Purpose and order
3
Relationships, love and togetherness
4
Virtues and the godly attributes
5
Creativity and beauty

Read a student testimony from one of last year’s pilgrimages

What is a Pilgrimage?

Pilgrimage in England has taken place since hunter-gatherers followed well-worn tracks, which then became ritualised journeys in Celtic and medieval history and in early modern Christianity.

Usually done on foot, a pilgrimage is a journey to a sacred place that touches the hearts and souls of the pilgrims, drawing them closer to God.

The purpose of a pilgrimage is   growth, and can often start with an intention, or questions such as: Who am I? What is my purpose in this life? What do I need to hear now? What do I need to draw me closer to my true spirit? What do I need to heal? By asking these questions the pilgrimage becomes both an inner and an outer journey. The spiritual practice of pilgrimage can also begin without an intention or initial awareness, and it is only on later reflection that the pilgrim realises that their life has been spiritually enriched by the journey.

On the pilgrimage it is important to cultivate an attitude of self-reflection and openness, and attention to what comes to you. Without this awareness, the pilgrimage can become just a walk in the countryside and lack a deeper purpose.

We are very much looking forward to sharing this experience with you!

Yoga is an amazing spiritual science that helps to harmonise all levels of the being.

As a foundation for a happy and healthy life, yoga is much more than just a physical practice. It can help you:

Testimonials from past Polarity Retreats

I attended Polarity retreat so far five times, and they have been watershed moments for me. The first time I participated was the first time I really “got” the idea of Polarity. In that retreat I became aware for the first time of the game between the masculine and the feminine. And this has impacted all areas of my life, from relationships to eroticism, to work and spiritual practice.
Kieran
Tantra student, London
What I discovered in this retreat was everything my heart that I had deeply desired for many years beforehand. This retreat was a very special experience for me as I felt I could truly be who I was, who I truly am – a version of myself who’d been hiding just beneath the surface only occasionally coming out. After integrating the notions taught in the Polarity retreat into my life, I discovered a deeper happiness and freedom … Read more

What a great playground to experience the contrast of feminine and masculine energy exchange! It gives you a flavour of how we can play the game of life, not afraid to be a child again, not afraid to love, not afraid to care and to experience a whole new range of emotions that enhance the quality of our life and the quality of our human relationships!
It was one of the few events that I think transformed me deeply and I was never the same after it!
Ion
Tantra student, London
The retreat was extraordinary, but not for everyone as it required curiosity and openness to appreciate life from a whole new perspective. Being under the same roof with other women, learning and being inspired together, listening and watching them being moved and crying was beautiful and deeply nourishing. Then the time where we consciously (and with lots of curiosity) interacted with men at the retreat became the cherry on top.

You enter a kind of fascinating tantra bubble that is both mysterious and enlightening.
And one that is hard to leave come the end.

I attended the Polarity Retreat in 2022. The venue was a gorgeous mansion in the serene English countryside. Men and women stayed in different parts of the building, creating a sense of mystery between us. The men spent time practising in the morning, to amplify our masculinity and solarity. I think it was on day 3 when we were first surprised by a visit from the women, and it was such a sublime experience, that I can still remember …

“The massage course has been such a sublime experience. From the first module, I felt already equipped with the necessary ingredients to practice at home: we left the room with an uplifting state, a bunch of notes and a few hours of practice. Practicing it at home definitely helped! There was plenty of material to digest. I liked the continuity of the modules, each starting from the experience of the previous ones Read more

“It was very helpful to understand the specific ways to massage in a masculine and feminine way – and to put it into practice. And it’s always good to get more practice with transfiguration! It helps me integrate it into my daily life, and to lean towards optimism. The massage practice will bear many fruits. Tara exceeded expectations as usual! Wonderful people, wonderful experience”.

Tantric Massage podcast

To many, the word massage summons up experiences of being pummelled or kneaded like dough. Immediately banish this image from your mind! Tantric Massage is completely different. It is a path to self knowledge. It is an unimaginably sublime experience in which we travel through layers of our being to reach the hidden treasures of one’s own self and that of the other. Here teacher Ben Carver describes to student Vivienne Rush the myriad delights of Tantric Massage.

What is Tantric Massage? (blog article)

“In this state of deep self-connection, tantric massage cuts the chains of fear, the shackles of shame and inhibition, any constrictions in the heart.”

Tantric massage is a spiritual practice in its own right. Like a river with many streams flowing into it, there are many aspects to the practice of tantric massage. To both give and receive tantric massage is a beautiful and heartfelt step on the spiritual path, bringing an intense yet safe awakening of the erotic energies that are brimming with life, so that body, mind and soul overflow with love, and the joy of renewal and rejuvenation.

Spiritual efficiency through aligning with the natural flow of life

The Moon is such a beautiful mystery, captivating our attention through her magical presence and sheer magnitude. Within the dance of the Sun and the Moon, the Sun represents the masculine principle and the consciousness, and the Moon symbolises the feminine principle – the Mother of Creation, the subconscious. The many faces of the Moon are a metaphor for every cycle, connecting us with birth, death and reincarnation. She embodies the rhythm of time.

The strong feminine power of the Moon impacts everything, from the waves of the ocean to our energetic field and our emotions. 60% of our bodies are made up of water, so we can feel the pulls and movement of the influence of the Moon in our everyday life. In the lunar cycle itself, each phase has a different shape and energetic characteristic.

Each stage of the cycle mirrors different needs within us, different potentialities to be nourished, and each has its own spiritual meaning, The Moon invites us to become aware of the natural fluctuations of the cycle, and by attuning to our own cyclical nature we can tap into the rich wisdom of each phase consciously.

Let’s discover the Lunation cycle together, and harness its power by using the energetic shifts of the Moon as a map to plan our days, weeks and months, and thus facilitate our spiritual growth in our daily life.

Lucid Dreaming – Oxford

Saturday 27th – Sunday 28th April
Oxford
10am – 6pm

All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.

– Edgar Allan Poe

We spend almost one third of our life asleep, where we slip in an uncontrolled way into an unconscious dream state, experiencing extraordinary mental images and sensations – only to return with vague impressions that we barely remember when we awaken.

Many feel that there must be something more to dreaming than just some imagined series of events and images involuntarily occurring in the mind while we sleep.

Imagine if we could make use of that time asleep, not just for resting and regenerating the body, but for learning, problem solving, exploring, healing and even for spiritual practice.

Lucid dreaming is the practice of becoming conscious while in the dream state, so that we can interact voluntarily with the dream world. The practice of lucid dreaming has been explored for thousands of years. The ancient yogic tradition revealed specific techniques of training that allow one to explore shifting states of consciousness while remaining fully aware, allowing one to ‘wake up’ while dreaming, and even to explore the dream world consciously.

For yogis, this experience is more than just exploring the images and scenes created by the mind, it is something that takes place in another dimension of reality – the astral worlds, where we can discover our own astral body and gain deep insights into the multidimensional nature of our own spiritual being, and of the universe in which we exist.

We will explore:

  • The benefits of lucid dreaming and conscious sleep
  • The nature and structure of the astral dimensions according to ancient yogic and modern Western research.
  • How to bring awareness into altered states of consciousness
  • Techniques for recognising the dream state and ‘waking up’ while dreaming.
  • Yoga Nidra – the yoga of conscious sleep

*Note, this workshop will not be about the interpretation of dreams, but rather about gaining an understanding of the astral worlds and learning how to enter and navigate them consciously.
